BLAH

i really need to control my spendings. like seriously. i need professional help.

recently got a hoodie along with some other shirts off ebay but I couldn't control myself and bought another hoodie from pull & bear today; the one from ebay hasn't even arrived!! +,+

anyway i saw this nice navy Vespa in the carpark today. i'm guessing its a male driver. I mean its navy man. it has to be! really awesome stuff. i should really stop procastinating and kick my butt out to get my bike licsense.

I love Vespas. but because i'm a petrol head, pedal heavy kinda guy, maybe i'll be better off on a cruiser instead. and eh, no thanks i hate sports bike. I admit they're fast and cool but there's no expression to them besides speed, speed and more speed, cruisers are way cooler. Think Ryan Reynolds and Ewan Mcgregor. Or perhaps the black leather jacket, the deep sounding motor (instead of the ripping roar you get from sports bikes), the chrome parts and silver bits, that long exhaust pipe and the exposed motor. oh yea.. now we're talking.

anyway i ate hell a lot today. like seriously hell a lot. both lunch and dinner. Bloated much. still am :

and i swear the government/ns is retarded. They made the pre-enlistment process such a pain in a arse. The instructions are completely useless. The FAQ is utter rubbish and the website is just plain confusing. I didn't know serving NS could be this dreadful this early :o

oh and TEP starts tmr. I'm hyped about meeting new people but i'm not really excited on the whole. the '9-5 everyday' thing is just turning me off. And they say u must never be late for TEP. I'm always late. So i should be pretty screwed. oh well, we'll see how it goes..

Vespa. Since 1946

pissed!

Goodbye.

Right now I’m so pissed I don’t know what do but write. So I’m going to rant now. You don’t have to read it.

I just lost a bike. The 2nd one in just under a year. Both bikes(bicycle) cost me about half a K each!! Seriously fuck this. I lost it in the exact same location and manner as the first. All I did was have it parked for a few hours. I’ve lost faith in Singapore; more so then ever. Ok maybe it’s just Toa Payoh. I really can’t comment about the other districts. But wtf. People elsewhere in the world can have their bicycles UNLOCKED, have it there for HOURS maybe even DAYS and no one will even take it. Talk about MORALS! Singaporeans still have heaps to catch up on. 1st world country? uh. far and beyond as I see it.

I made it a point to park the bike at a designated bicycle parking bay at Toa Payoh Hub (mrt station). Tons off people walk pass it day in day out. It was as BUSY and CROWDED as it could be so i really thought it’ll be safe and near impossible to be stolen..

That’s not even half the story.

I when out and all today, had a great day. But I was really tired and I completely forgotten that I cycled to the mrt earlier. Only realised when I stepped into my house that I’ve left my friend’s bike at the hdb hub(yes made worse by the fact that this 2nd bike I lost is actually my friend’s). Without even thinking, I dropped my stuff, grab the keys and dashed out. Knowing that I’ve lost a bike once before, I ran, I could swear I ran as fast as I could . I bolted across the junctions, even ignored traffic. And when I can finally stop to catch my breath, I didn’t; instead I shot one out, the word FUCK. The bike was GONE. I was paranoid; I kept walking off and then back, in cycles and even combed the area. I must have been really stupid. Once it’s gone it’s gone. Obviously it wouldn’t magically appear. I was speechless and I didn’t know how to tell my friend. And it wasn't just my friend. It was the bike. It really meant something to me. I’ll tell you why.

Back in 2007 I got into a Car accident while cycling. It was the very bike that I lost today that I was cycling on that fateful day. You might think, isn’t that my friend’s bike. Well on paper yea but technically there’s more to that

The bike was originally mine. I got it back in 06. I rode it well, rode it hard, you wouldn’t imagine the total distance I clocked in it. It took in mud, took in sand, took in everything I got to give. It had my sweat and even my blood strained on it. The bike was badly sacred (had many scratches) after the accident but that made me love it even more. This might sound weird, but I love it. I frigging love it. I mean, we did went through so much together! Unfortunately, after the accident my dad wanted me to get rid of the bike. Of course I couldn’t. But to please him I sold it to my friend - so at least it vanishes from his sight.

However, if you know me, I’m as rebellious as you would imagine. No in a hell way I’m retiring. One accident wasn’t going to stop me from cycling. So I got a second bike secretly (and almost immediately), spent about $500 on it as well. Not even half a year in, I lost it. That was the first bike I lost. I can even vividly remember when.. it was during the Ocktober fest period last year.

And today I lost a 2nd bike. My original Avalanche GT 2. This is driving me fucking insane. My friend recently told me that he’s getting a new bike and that he was going to return me my beloved bike. We would have been reunited.. and now it’s now gone thanks to the thief. The bloody thief. Well, whoever you are, fuck you. OH, & seriously, that bike is cursed. Only I can ride it. Break the lock, it’ll break your bones.. trust me, it’ll lead you straight into a car accident. Maybe I’ll get to see it. And dear oh dear I’ll just coolly claim back what’s rightfully mine and leave you dying on the road. You read me thieve.. Just you wait. Just you wait..

oh Alpha-Bits. how much i miss you

Post Alpha-Bits. One of my childhood favourites. the cereal that i would always beg my mom for in the supermarket when i was little. where she'll always go 'this again?!'

I remembered how i use to eat up all the non-marshmallow bits and leaving the marshmallows for last. I also remembered taking them out of the bowl to form words and sentences. or how my elder brother disliked the marshmallow bits and wouldn't mind giving me his - which i never quite understood why

and then one day, it vanished off the shelves of every supermart. not even the hypermarts like carrefour have them. gone. just like that.

that was years ago. but today i've got breaking news because i found an alternative! Lucky Charms! I don't do the groceries so i've no idea whether this cereal's something new or has always been around. But it definately caught my attention. The good news is it taste 99% identical to my beloved Alpha-Bits, the bad, well, it never felt anywhere near the same as munching on good-O Alpha-Bits.. i guess i miss the seeing those alphabits. chewing on weird symbols & hourglasses just didn't felt right or as satisfying. Haha. but oh well, for those Alpha-Bit fans out there, THERE U HAVE IT, an ALTERNATIVE to your old time favourite! cheers. x)

oh and there's this! Oreo Chocolate Cake. HEY. i know what u're looking at.. you're looking at the wrong thing. look at whats on the bowl and not whats behind! haha. let me finish talking about the cake first, i'll talk about whats behind later! Ya. so anyway, mom got it from some unknown cake shop. but it doesn't matter cos it taste awesomee. i had 3 slices at one go. actually, more like 6 by the way and proportion i cut. haha! x] Isn't it fascinating how the stomach groans for food at 3am in the morning.. it must think its time for breakfast already.. aha. I'm so going to get fat

Alright. now about the background (the moment all of u have been waiting for right.) Well, sorry to dissapoint, i wasn't watching a porn flick over supper (who on earth does that anyway? lol). I was watching the movie 'what women want'. It's one of Mel Gibson's most brillant movies in his younger days

despite some minor flaws, the movie was brillant and its made even better when u're watching it in the comfort of your bedroom, shielded away from blustering rain and the cold night sky outside..

quotes part I

"At the end of the day, there are some things you just can't help but talk about. Some things we just don't want to hear, and some things we say because we can't be silent any longer. Some things are more than what you say, they're what you do. Some things you say because there's no other choice. Some things you keep to yourself and not too often, but every now and then, some things simply speak for themselves."

- Meredith Grey

off kinahhhh's blog. Thanks for letting me share it here kinah! :)

"Grant me the strength to accept the things that I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference."

- Khadgar, WoW

this one's off Zinc's wall on facebook. HAHA. i thought this quote was from the bible but Zinc told me it's from WoW, i was like wow. haha. cool game man! xD

Kids

I’m munching on an apple now and I hear squishy squashy noises in my left ear. like what the hell. lol. I think there’s some left over soap in it. probably didn’t rinse well in my bath. Haha.

Aye. was studying over at KFC today. There was this cute kid. Haha actually two. The first one really looked like a malay but he’s parents were both Chinese! Haha. He kept staring at me. I don’t know what’s there so interesting to look at. Except maybe for that stupid fly that kept buzzing around me the whole time I was there. But it wasn’t then! Haha! He was really adorable. He had this ‘huh’ look on his face. why is it that wherever I go there’s always something to distract me from my study?! Haha. Anyway, when the kid and his parents were about to head off he came in front of me and literally stood there. So I smiled and waved bye at him. He looked so happy when I did and waved back before running to his parents. Haha! Maybe he thought i was some statue that couldn't move. oh well, at least there wasn't anymore huh face :)

That was the first kiddo. Next one sat across the table to where I was. I think he might be hyper active; his mum obviously failed to contain him. haha. But he was pretty cute too. He stood on the chair, faced where I was and started singing never say never by the fray. he was like only 3? or 4 tops? though he could only sing the line ‘don’t let me go, don’t let me go’ haha! but it’s still pretty impressive considering that he could barely pronounce let alone sing them out loud. aha

on a separate incident, i was reading an A4 sized brochure while walking just the other day when a wind blew by, swiping it straight off my hands like a weightless tissue paper. it flew and landed smack on the face of this cute eurasian baby girl who was in a pram not far away. not lying. Haha!

i don't know if i was lucky but her mum happened to be looking away when it happened. it was hilarious. i have a snap shot of the baby girl's expression in my head as i removed the brochure off her face. it was priceless. haha. and her elder brother standing beside the pram couldn't stop laughing. I'm just glad that she didn't start crying! or i'll be in trouble. haha!

I don’t want to sound like a pedophile but haha I think I might like kids. Though I think having your own is another story. don't get me started on their high pitch cries. lol. Anyway, getting stared by kids isn’t something new to me. I get plenty of those on trains and buses, and somehow i always have them knocking into my legs. haha. They just go running about in shopping malls then BUMP, Knock into this really tall thing. Look up slowwwly, with that really blur look on their faces & little birds twirling in circles over their head. and their running parents (to catch up with their little kidos) will come and apologise. lol. funnies. I shall call them the kamikaze kids. Haha.

ahhh.. family and all.., how nice! that’s really life man

And now back to studying. argh. FML

random thoughts & talks. part II

1. The entire house rake of the smell of durian

2. If there was such a thing as durian juice, that’s how the milk in my fridge taste like now

3. My tongue is purple as I just had a bunch of grapes (which also happen to taste like durians; they all share the same darn fridge)

4. I hate durians

5. My little toe is still swollen like a tiny red mushroom =(

6. Studying is difficult when there’s something constantly up there you can’t stop thinking about..

7. The only complain I have of Starbucks now is their rock-solid (literally) wooden chair. It feels like I’ve just sat on the horns of an antelope. My butt cheeks are not pleased.

8. Saw the balcony of this house from a distant today. It was completely forested. yea. forested. It’s basically one big patch of green with plants growing (and overflowing) beyond the limits of what the balcony could possibly hold. I wonder what the owner was thinking but I guess it must be cool looking out from the inside; I bet it’ll feel like you’re looking out into a rainforest. I reckon the owner’s a jungle-junkie, tarzan wannable.

9. I’ve (finally) gotten over the fear that my dyed hair will turn green when I step into chlorine infested pool waters. I just miss the sun and water. I want to take my clothes off and jump right in now.

oh I wish I could.

10. Had sweets for dinner. it wasn’t good.

that song..

Heard this song playing while I was at mos. I knew it was from a Disney movie. One of my childhood favourites but it was really frustrating because I couldn’t remember what movie it was from nor the title of the song. So instead of studying I basically sat there, mustering all of my brains just trying to recall. but I couldn’t.

This is the first time I didn’t actually use google to look for answers. Instead, the first thing I did when i got home was head for the lowest drawer beneath where the TV rested.. the drawer I used to open oh-so often when I was no taller than the old porcelain vase that sat next to the TV (and still do). As I shuffled across dusty VHS tapes, I see familiar titles (now mostly classics haha) such as titanic, golden eye, and bugs bunny.. after a few flips, I found what I was looking for! it was ‘The Land Before Time’! haha. I was wrong though, it wasn’t a movie by Disney but apparently it’s produced by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas! like wow. haha I bet I didn’t know who they were when I was little.

The song I heard over mos is actually the movie’s theme song, 'If We Hold On Together' by Diana Ross. I’m pretty sure most of you have heard of it. Part of the lyrics goes, “If we hold on together, I know our dreams will never die, dreams see us through to forever where clouds roll by, for you and I…”

Haha. anyway they when on playing all the oldies. The really good stuff like Vincent (Starry Starry Night) then there was also There You'll Be by Faith Hill (Pearl Harbor’s theme song). Although I didn’t need to keep myself plucked in like I usually do; I must say, it was really distractive having good music playing in the background!

Actually, at times like this (the exam period & long study breaks) I usually grumble on and complain about well, studying. Haha for a change, I shall not be complaining about that but instead, on what I noticed while studying out lately. All this time I spent in cafes and fast-food chains, has allowed me see and observe some things and the ocasional interesting people that we normally tend to overlook. What I’d like to ‘complain’ about today though, is a rather interesting one: the group of girls who talk and laugh ever so loudly. What were they thinking? Its seriously unsexy. a real pity. because some I saw looked really fabulous. But uh. I’ve no idea why.. are they trying to seek people’s attention? or maybe that’s just them when they’re in familiar surroundings (with friends) but have they also forgotten that they are out in public?? haha ok. Not so much of a complain. I’m just wondering thats all. haha and I’m also starting to think that I’m really traditional; or whatever you might call it. I like girls who are soft-spoken, sweet and gentle. They never fail melt me everytime..

foot soldier

Photobucket

hope the subject of war doesn't come off too strongly. needed to write discretely and couldn't find a better way. I actually had some trouble thinking of the subject at first. It wasn’t untill I came across Radiohead's new release; a song in tribute to the late and last living British World War I veteran; the song wasn't great, then again it doesn’t matter, it gave me the idea and thats good enough. Though I must say, what Radiohead did was really cool and commendable. Ok I’m getting carried away as always, haha here's what i came up with. It’s obviously not about the WWI veteran. I’m just borrowing the war..

I’m a foot soldier
I joined the war
no contemplation
no agenda
now I’m lost and cold
as I crease through nights in bewildering wonder
why ever did I join this war?
maybe it’s time to withdraw from this excruciation
I see no alleviation
I've tried taking a step back slow
but there was no vindication
I just don't want to be that swinging oakwood door
like dirt on my boots
I’ve stepped into charade
but there's no real escape
so i'm fighting
i'm fighting.
I am a foot soldier
vulnerable as I step into iffy horizons..

---

anyway here's a vid of Lisztomania which i jus had to share with you guys. i fing love it.

American Beggars

here's why i might be really generous with American beggars.

because what they do might very well make my day. say, while i'm walking down the streets one gloomy winter day and happen to see one of them. aha. I think they have the power to make even the greyest, coldest winter interesting.. put smiles on ppl's face despite the rescession and all. someone teleport me to America already please. haha

and if u're lucky, u might even get to see things like this,

ahaha how cool is that.

in singapore, the most interesting thing u might get to see onboard a train is probably something like this,

next to aunties digging their noses of course; oh yes, i've seen. after plicking they simply flick their crap all over the place. sick.

ANYWHO, MGMT's Time to Pretend is ringing in my head right now. i really love the start of that song! haha it has a nice tinge to it. last time i got this ringing in my head feeling was with Black Eye Peas's I got a feeling.. hah

people watching.

photos after the jump.

This is hilarious. thrifty Dad and indecisive Mom bought a new sofa in under 20 mins. I like that. In fact, I think I might have played a part in it. mmmmm. haha! basically i just glued myself to the sofa for the greater part of the time spent in the furniture store. They’ll either have to get it or leave me there. wahaha. nah.. I guess it was at a reasonable price; at least mom says so, dad was kinda reluctant at first but after a few other shoppers came back and stared at it with beaming eyes that read “I love that sofa!!”, he gave in. HAHA it was really funny because it was the last piece. I just sat there the whole time watching couples coming by, sat, wow-ed, speak softly amongst themselves, walk away, come back again, sat, whisper.whisper. That made my mom really anxious. Haha. And my dad was quite cute too, he just wandered about seating on practically everything he saw and he had that grumpy face so it made it even more hilarious because it looked like no sofas will ever satisfy him. For me? Well I just sat on that same chocolate brown sofa. Couldn’t even twitch. Too lazy to move. Too comfortable too. Haha.

So, it turned out to be some kind of competition to see which couple decides to get it first. Oh well, looks like mi family won aye? Cheers to that. haha! See mom? dad, I knew u could do it. It’s really not that difficult to give in to impulsive, spontaneous buying. aha.

Anyway, i FINALLY got the chance to go timbre! Haha been hearing about it for some time now and I’ve read about it in the papers too. It was pretty awesome, the roasted duck pizza I had was quite unique but I got sick off it after sometime haha. To me though, the ambience was more important, and that was well covered. Really love to chill at places like this. Actually we arrived really early because we’ve heard of scary long queues and we missed the reservation period; which has to be done a week before. So we basically waited a really long time for the performance to start. But it was worth the wait, Fatt was really talented on the guitar and Pam was as good an entertainer as she was a singer. She made one poor fellow sing the chorus of poker face for her, I think the guy was not pure Singaporean, maybe Filipino, we just heard po..po..po..ka café. po..po..po..ka café instead of poker FACE. Haha. Some birthday people got dragged on stage etc, it wasn’t much but yea. some laughs here and there. It was a terrific night. Great experience; feels wholly different from the last one I went in ben and jerry's.

Ahh I really want a life like that. Going up to places like dempsey hill, chilling in style. WAHAHA. omg shit haha starting to get all materialistic. bad. bad. haha but I’ll aim for that though. Really want a comfortable, relaxed lifestyle when I'm older. I don’t need to be uber rich. Just rich will do. LOL.

On smelling like cookies

say no to OCK and yes to American's favourite cookie

Oh man. i just got a huge scolding from my dad after he witnessed me toppling over while i was practicing my handstand. There wasn't even a loud THUD when i fell lah. I just made some ahhhhh sound while i was in the process of falling so it’s obviously not because i hurt myself but more along the lines of 'crap i'm losing my balance again' thus the ahhhhh. haha

So that was that. haha massive over reaction from mr. old fashion. He continued to quote multiple incidents he read from the papers of dancers and stuntmen who died doing their thing. I only remembered nodding. like, a lot. haha.

Aiya. Good intentions clearly. but oh pls dad, i'm not about to die while trying to do some silly handstands okay! haha

moving on, i'd suspect you must be wondering what the picture above is all about. haha. well, lets talk about old chang kee. for complete idiots, its a stall which sells all sorts of puffs and other fried stuff. ok so here's the thing, i really really hate it. I don't use to until the branch at toa payoh opened

You see, it happens to be STRATEGICALLY located smack in the middle where everyone needs to walk to get to the train station and every time i walk pass the store i'll be welcomed with this omgwtf-rish disgustingly pungent smell of deep fried food. Actually, a better portrayal of the situation would be like walking right through a massive field of floating oil particles. I know that might not sound ghastly enough to you. so I would now like you to imagine it in slow-mo. matrix style. Instead of having cool rainy waters smacking on your face like a refreshing bath, its oil. oil probably reused over and over, and imagine the sound effect in slow-mo, phak. phak. phak. phak all that oil slapping right across your face. horrid enough for you? haha now i know why facial wash adverts are always about CLEARING & REMOVING EXCESS OIL. i think i’d really need those. haha.

you know, I can’t help but think they should just close the old chang kee and replace it with Famous Amos. it’ll be like a junkyard of a difference. Like walking pass a nice perfume shop (or a bikini store if you prefer, male readers) to a gigantic rubbish dump. Haha. Just imagine!  i’ll be feeling all sweet every time I walk pass that place and never oily again! (I’m sure you know the expression everyone gets when they sniff famous amos from afar right. ahaha. Kinda like what Ron looks like after drinking the love portion in the Half Blood Prince)

& so, wherever i might be taking the train to, u’ll be sure to be greeted by a GRINNING SLAPHAPPY GORDON SMELLING LIKE YUMMY CHOC COOKIES. SO MUCH BETTER THAN A GORDON ALL SMUDGE UP IN OIL AND SMELLING LIKE FRIED SOTONG BALLS RIGHT?!

Can someone please be so kind to start a partition on closing the store with the big mean yellow banner? i'll love you =D

aye anyway i've this habit of downloading entire albums instead of individual songs and now i'm trying to sort out the good ones from the ‘wtf-you-call this-music?’ (what a long way to say bad. stupid me) and i'm telling you it’s really not easy. I’ve had some songs looping over and over again and i still can't decide whether it deserve to stay or go. Maybe if i take this long it must mean it’s really awful and i should simply just delete it yea? haha. nevertheless, i'm quite satisfied with my progress.. like horehound by Dead Weather for example. from 11 songs, but now i'm only keeping 3. aha. Wilco, Oasis, radiohead, deerhunter all pain in the arse to sort out though *shrugs*

it’ll be a long night..

Gordon is sick

Photobucket
yea. thats exactly how i look like now. Except with some pants on

feeling extremely sleazy, almost like i slept faced down for hours straight and now i have to wheeze for air for the rest of the day. haha.

a few days of sleepless nights is also making me groggy. My neck feels like its going to snap off any moment. Boxes of tissue can't keep up with my nose which happens to be pouring more violently than niagara falls and now redder than Rudolph's - the red nose deer. And my throat. I sound oh so sexy now. Well, as long as i don't start coughing at you cause i promise you it'll be like a tommy gun. non-stop & very very rapid haha

but nah hah. doubt it'll be h1n1. And if it is. LAWL. lets just say i've been seeing a lot of people lately. you're all so going to get it ;D wahaha. ok la. on a more serious note. i really hope i dun get it. I dun fall sick often and i'm not used to this queasy feeling. really hate it. grouchy and all :\ do gals really get something like this everytime their period is around the corner? if so, OH MAH. i'll jus hang myself. seriously :o

OK I just did something completely unpremeditated. so there's this pile of used tissue paper all over my desk, decided to grab them all together to form this huge ball. Wanted to see how big it'll be (needed to throw them anyway). apparently its almost the size of a netball, like the size of those minature basketball. hahas. amazing.

ALRIGHT. BYE WORLD. let me die in peace :|
